Originating from distant Australia, macadamia has been widely grown in Vietnam, especially the Central Highlands.
To grow, macadamia must require all suitable conditions such as soil, temperature, humidity, rainfall, altitude..., these factors will affect the flowering of the tree. The Central Highlands region has all the best conditions for macadamia to grow, yielding high productivity and quality.
Over the past 10 years, Macadamia trees have been widely grown mainly in 3 provinces: Lam Dong, Dak Lak and Dak Nong. Of the land area planted with macadamia trees, about 80% is intercropped with coffee trees and the remaining % is newly planted. This is understandable because Coffee is a shade-loving plant, so planting macadamia trees among coffee will benefit the coffee, which itself will be a shade tree.
